    Ever heard your mind saying these words, dear sister? Then, you are not alone. Let’s imagine that the thought that comes to some of our minds is true. But why does it happen to be, that every time we step out of our house with make-up, we tend to become self-conscious in the presence of men? Why is it that we start walking a little differently when we see a good looking man? Why is it that we try to act extra cute when that popular guy is staring at us?

    Dear sister, no matter how much we try to justify it to ourselves, it’s not because of our ‘confident’ and ‘independent’ nature that we spend so much time beautifying ourselves before stepping out of our homes. As women, we have the tendency to seek attention. So even the tiniest thing done, that you think might get you that attention will impact the personality that you carry outside your home. The way you carry yourself and the interactions that you have especially with the opposite gender will deeply get affected. And if we don’t catch ourselves at the right time, either we will ruin somebody else’s life or somebody else will ruin ours.

    Our deen saves us from that drama by teaching us a balance. Sure we can look good. But it is a responsibility upon us to judge our own actions. It is for us to judge how we beautify ourselves in order to seek attention or perhaps even to put others down. No matter how much we lie to ourselves, we clearly know the difference between looking presentable and looking attractive. We must look presentable but there is no need for us to put layers and layers of make up just so that someone might look at us. We, as muslimahs have much higher aspirations than seeking the attention of any man. Our ultimate goal in life is NOT marrying a man and settling down as fairy tales and movies suggest. Married or not, our struggle in life is to seek the pleasure of Allah and the ultimate goal is to earn Jannah that He has promised for us.

    May Allah grant all of us a deeper understanding. Ameen!

    “Oh it’s not SUCH a bad scene. It could have been worse!” says a typical teenage kid watching a movie premiere.

    You might think, ‘oh kids nowadays!’ But what about you and me? Have we never said this before? If not with our tongues haven’t we said it in our heart a number of times? Let’s be honest with ourselves. We see a trailer in a movie and sometimes the only reason we have the urge to watch the movie is just the glimpse of an inappropriate scene. And we might pretend to skip the scene when we watch the movie with others but when we are alone, we have absolutely no restrictions. And you might ask me…..what is so wrong about that? It’s just a few minutes of duration. That might be true but the fact of the matter is shaithaan is constantly working to pull you backwards. And if you think there is nothing wrong about that, it takes very little for shaithaan to take that one scene you watch and make it a trigger for you to get addicted to something much worse than that scene. And when you do, then you will regret that you ever saw such a scene with your own eyes.
    So the next time you watch a movie, ask yourself. Why exactly am I watching this? Think, reflect and take a decision In Sha Allah.

For about 7 to 8 years stopped watching movies and series..now also watch mainly Pakistani dramas online which really doesn’t have bad scenes compared to other movies and dramas BUT feeling gulity of getting addicted to this…enjoying it and feel guilty of wasting time and watching it at the same time. Wanted to stop this but confused. I do make duas too but again & again same thing happens..Janaa Plz suggest some productive ways to stop this and how to use my time wisely and make Dua for ppl like me.? This story is very nice and inspiring to do Good. May Allah bless ur work and make all of this a sadaqah jaaria to u. Jazakillah Khairan.

       Subhaanallah sister Mazla, you are not alone in this. i bet there are many other sisters out there who are addicted to those dramas and have a hard time getting out of it. But there is a way out of it In Sha Allah.
       First of all dear sister, i want you to know the negative impact those dramas have on your life though there are no particularly ‘bad scenes’ in them. I’m not familiar with what’s out there today, but from what i know those dramas show lots of family feuds. and a lot of times those feuds a not solved in a proper manner. For example a the problems between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law and how at times the husband takes the side of his wife instead of his mother rather than trying to solve the problem in a just manner between the two. Or maybe there can be a very rebellious girl/boy going against his/her parents saying things like they should be free to do whatever they want. Or perhaps a girl and boy who want to get married without there parents’ consent. We may think that these personalities have no impact on us, but trust me, they do. The way we view the world changes when we watch these things and we know that we, as muslims have a much more mature understanding of life than that.
       So now that i told you the negative impact, i will give you some practical tips to get away from it. And this is where productivity tips comes into play. I would recommend you to make a to do list for each day. Include everything that you MUST do in it and also add some more things regarding what you can do to improve yourself. Like gaining more knowledge about deen, reciting more Quran, spending some time in memorization of Quran, finding out how you can do better at your work, spending quality time with your family and things like exercising. The important thing is to set a goal first. Like for example i have goals like watching 1 khutbah everyday, taking 1 lesson of Arabic everyday, memorizing about 5 ayahs everyday, and reading a self development book for 10 mins everyday. Write a to do list for each day depending on the goals you have. Make a to do list that is challenging. That you know you can JUST accomplish by the end of the day. Keep ticking each task that you accomplish.
       Once you start doing this, you will no longer have the time to worry about unnecessary things and you will focus on what is more important In Sha Allah. And remember, consistency is key. As Rasool (SAW) told us, the best deeds are those that are consistent though they are small.
       Hope this helped In Sha Allah. May Allah make us of those who use their time wisely. Ameen!

    އަހަރުމެން އަމިއްލަ ނަފްސަށް ކިތަންމެ އޮޅުވާލަން މަސައްކަތް ކުރިޔަސް ޙަޤީޤަތަކީ އަހަރުމެން އެހާ ވަރަށް އަހަރުމެންގެ ބޭރުފުށް ރީތިކުރަން މަސައްކަތް ކުރަނީ ވަކި އަމިއްލަ ނަފްސަށްޓަކައި ނޫންކަމެވެ. އަހަރުމެންނަކީ އަންހެނުންނަށްވީތީ ފިރިހެނުންގެ ސަމާލުކަން ހޯދުމުގެ އެދުމެއް އަހަރުމެންގެ ހިތުތެރޭގައި ވެއެވެ. އެ ސަމާލުކަން ހޯދުމަށްޓަކައި ކުރެވޭ ކިތަންމެ ކުޑަ ކަމެއްގެ ސަބަބުން ވެސް ގެއިން ބޭރުގައި އަހަރުމެން އުޅޭ އުޅުމަށް ބަދަލުތަކެއް އާދެއެވެ. އަހަރުމެން ކަންތައް ކުރާ ގޮތާއި ވަކިން ޚާއްޞަކޮށް ފިރިހެނުންނާއި ވާހަކަ ދައްކައި ހަދާ ގޮތްތަކަށް ބަދަލު އާދެއެވެ. އެފަދަ ޙާލަތެއްގައި އަހަރުމެންނަށް ރަނގަޅު ވަގުތުގައި އަމިއްލަ ނަފްސު ކޮންޓްރޯލް ނުކުރެވިއްޖެނަމަ، އަހަރުމެންނަށް އެހެން މީހެއްގެ ޙަޔާތް ބަރުބާދުވެވިދާނެއެވެ. އެހެންނޫނީ އެހެން މީހަކަށް އަހަރުމެންގެ ޙަޔާތް ބަރުބާދުވެވިދާނެއެވެ.

    އަހަރުމެންގެ ދީން އަހަރުމެންނަށް އުނގަންނައިދެއްވާފައިވި ކަންތައްތަކުން މި ދީން އަހަރުމެން އެ ޙާލަތްތަކުން ސަލާމަތް ކުރެއެވެ. އަހަރުމެންނަށް ޒީނަތްތެރިވެވިދާނެއެވެ. އެހެނަސް އެއީ ވަކި ހައްދެއްގައެވެ. އަހަރުމެން ކުރާ ޢަމަލުތަކުގެ ފަހަތުގައިވި ނިޔަތްތަކާމެދު ވިސްނުމަކީ އަހަރުމެންގެ ޒިންމާއެކެވެ. އަމިއްލަ ނަފްސަށް ކިތަންމެ ވަރަކަށް ދޮގު ހެދިޔަސް، ރީތިވުމުގައި މީހުންގެ ސަމާލުކަން ހޯދަން ކުރެވޭ ކަންތައްތަކާއި އެނޫން ކަންތައްތަކާމެދު ހުރި ތަފާތުތައް އަހަރުމެންނަށް ސާފުކޮށް އެނގެއެވެ.

    މުސްލިމް އަންހެނުންނަށްވީތީ އަހަރުމެންނަކީ ފިރިހެނެއްގެ ސަމާލުކަން ހޯދުމަށްވުރެ މާ ބޮޑެތި މަޤްޞަދުތަކާއިއެކީ ދިރިއުޅުން ވޭތުކުރަންޖެހޭ ބައެކެވެ. އަހަރުމެންގެ ޙަޔާތުގެ މަޤްޞަދަކީ ކާރޓޫންތަކާއި ފިލްމުތަކުން ފެންނަހެން މީހަކާއި ކައިވެނިކޮށްގެން އުފަލުގައި އުޅުމެއްނޫނެވެ. ޒަވާޖީ ޙަޔާތެއްގެ ކުރިންވެސް އަދި ފަހުން ވެސް މުސްލިމް އަންހެނެއްގެ މަޤްޞަދަކީ ﷲގެ ރުހިވޮޑިގަތުން ލިބިގަތުމެވެ. އަދި އެންމެ ބޮޑު މަޤްޞަދަކީ އެކަލާނގެ އަޅަމެންނަށްޓަކައި ތައްޔާރުކުރެއްވި ސުވަރުގެއަށް ދިޔުމެވެ.

    މާތް ﷲ އަޅަމެންނަށް ފުންކޮށް ވިސްނުމުގެ ތައުފީޤު ދެއްވާށި. އާމީން!
